She found it on the sixth of May in box nine hundred and one, which was the last box on the last rack, and which was the only box in the archive that was locked.

It was not locked well. It had a hasp and a small brass padlock of the sort you get on a suitcase, and Selena Hart looked at it for about ninety seconds and then went upstairs and borrowed a pair of pliers from the maintenance cupboard, which was the fourth clause she broke that year and the one she was least sorry about.
