Chapter 26

Two Weeks

2 min read

The GP was a woman of about fifty called Dr Ahluwalia who took eleven minutes and did not perform anything.

She felt the neck. She felt under Talia's arms, and her groin, and asked her to lie down and pressed under her ribs on the left and did it twice. She asked about sweats and asked how many nights a week and did not write down some, she wrote down the number. She asked about the itching and about alcohol, which seemed insane — does it get worse when you drink? — and Talia said, "Actually, yes, on the second glass," and heard herself say it, and stopped.
